Signing in
On this page
How to sign in to Blocklive on the web, as someone with tickets or as an organizer, and how two-step verification, signing out and ended sessions work.
There's one Blocklive account for both. Signing in on My tickets, an event page or the admin uses the same account and the same screens.
Ways to sign in
| Way | What you do | Where it's offered |
|---|---|---|
| Email code | Enter your email, then the code Blocklive emails you. | Everywhere. |
| Sign in with your Google account. | Everywhere. | |
| Wallet | Connect a crypto wallet and sign a message with it. | Everywhere. |
| Passkey | Use a passkey saved on your device or in your password manager. | Organizer pages, once you've added a passkey. |
There's no password. Use the same email or wallet each time: tickets belong to the account you got them with.
Sign in with an email code
- On Welcome to Blocklive, enter your email and press Continue with email.
- Check your email says where the code went. Open the email from Blocklive and type or paste the code. It is checked as soon as it's complete, or press Verify and continue.
- You're signed in shows, and you're taken on.
An email with no account yet gets one: the same code creates it. While Blocklive finishes, Setting up your account… may show for a moment. If it takes longer than 15 seconds, the page offers Reload.
- No email? Check spam. After a minute, Send a new code replaces the countdown; use the newest code.
- Wrong address? Press Use a different email.
- Pasting the whole email text works: only the digits are kept.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| That code is wrong or has expired. Check your latest email or send a new code. | Use the newest code, or send a new one. |
| Too many attempts. Wait a minute, then try again. | Wait a minute. |
| Enter a valid email address, like … | Fix the email address. |
Sign in with Google
Press the Google button under or continue with. Google asks you to choose an account, then brings you back to Blocklive's home page, signed in. Go back to the page you were on from there.
Sign in with a wallet
The wallets under or continue with are the ones Blocklive found in your browser, with Rabby, MetaMask and Backpack first, and WalletConnect for a wallet on your phone.
- Press your wallet. The card says Waiting for wallet….
- In the wallet, approve the connection, then sign the message Blocklive asks for. Signing a message doesn't send a transaction or cost anything.
- You're signed in with that wallet.
Cancel gives you the card back if you close the wallet's window. If you approve the request in the wallet later, you're still signed in.
- On a computer, a suggested wallet you haven't installed opens its download page.
- On a phone, MetaMask opens Blocklive in its own browser; other wallets connect through WalletConnect.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Wallet still has a request open. Open wallet to finish or reject it, then try again. | Finish or reject the open request in the wallet. |
| We couldn't connect wallet. Try again or choose another wallet. | Try again, or use another way to sign in. |
Sign in with a passkey
A passkey signs you in with your fingerprint, face, device PIN or password manager, without an email code. Add one first in sign-in and security.
On an organizer page, press Sign in with a passkey under Continue with email and follow your browser. The button shows only in browsers that support passkeys. My tickets, event pages and checkout don't offer it yet.
Where you sign in
My tickets
Signed out, My tickets says Your tickets live here. Press Sign in, then use the email or wallet you got your tickets with.
If you signed in with a wallet that isn't connected any more, the page says Reconnect your wallet. Press Connect wallet to see the tickets it holds.
Event pages and checkout
Sign in is in the event page's header. The sign-in opens over the page, and closing it (×) leaves you where you were.
To pay with crypto, such as USDC, you need an account: the checkout shows Sign in to pay with USDC. Pressing it closes the checkout and opens the sign-in. Once you're signed in, open the checkout again; your tickets go to your account.
After buying
On the order page, Go to my tickets takes you to the event's tickets. If you aren't signed in, Blocklive emails a code to the address on the order and asks for it straight away (Check your email). The address can't be changed there.
Organizer pages
The admin, your team's pages, Developer and organization pages show the sign-in in place of the page until you're signed in. It is the same email step, with Sign in with a passkey as well. While Blocklive checks an existing session, the page says Checking your session….
Two-step verification
Two-step verification asks for a second step after you sign in: a code from an authenticator app, or a security key. It's optional for most accounts, and needed to:
- sign in the Blocklive CLI;
- make or change developer API keys, which first ask you to Confirm it's you with two-step verification.
After you sign in
With two-step verification on, Confirm it's you opens as soon as you've signed in, whichever way you did, and can't be closed:
- With an authenticator app: enter the 6-digit code from the app and press Verify. This code isn't emailed.
- With a security key: press Use key name and follow your browser.
- Use your authenticator app and Use a security key switch between the two when you have both.
- Cancel signs you out.
Then Verified shows and you're signed in.
Sign-in and security
Turn two-step verification on and manage passkeys at blocklive.io/account/security, or from Sign-in and security in the admin's account menu.
| Section | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Two-step verification | Add authenticator app: scan the QR code (or Can't scan it? for a setup key), enter the 6-digit code, press Turn on. |
| Passkeys | Add a passkey: fingerprint, face, PIN or a password manager. |
| Security keys | Add a security key: a YubiKey or other hardware key. |
Keep the setup key somewhere safe: it puts the same codes on a new phone. Removing your only authenticator app or security key turns two-step verification off. If a section says Passkeys aren't available yet, use another way to sign in.
Signing out
Choose Sign out in the account menu: the menu with your picture on Blocklive's pages, or the account menu in the admin.
Signing out ends your Blocklive sessions on every browser and device, not only this one, and ends any Blocklive CLI sign-ins approved from them. Other devices ask you to sign in again the next time they refresh their session. On a team page you're taken back to the sign-in.
When a session ends
You stay signed in on a browser until you sign out. If Blocklive can't restore your session, for example after you signed out on another device, the sign-in shows with We couldn't restore your session. Sign in again to continue. Sign in again; you return to the same page.
